The Harold Lloyd Collection - Vol. 2 (DVD)
Harold Lloyd was an early comedic actor loved by audiences and highly respected within the moviemaking industry. Not a natural comic, but a great actor playing comedic parts, Lloyd developed a highly physical style, incorporating the element of fear into many of his scenes to heighten their impact. Before the days of special effects, he made use of perspective and camera tricks in highly innovative ways in order to create the illusion of danger. Many times more prolific than Buster Keaton or Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd was the highest-paid actor in Hollywood for a time, and helped foster the emerging form of the feature film with such classics as GRANDMA`S BOY and THE SHY GIRL. Volume 2 of the HAROLD LLOYD COLLECTION includes some of the actor`s most-loved shorts, such as HIGH AND DIZZY, THE CITY SLICKER, and TWO GUN GUSSIE, as well as the longer films, NOW OR NEVER and AMONG THOSE PRESENT. Representative of the genius of this often-overlooked silent film star, this selection will not fail to delight and inspire, with its characters that are both humorous and highly moving.
