As a prelude to the
Blue Collar Comedy Tour,
comedians Ron White, Jeff Foxworthy, and Bill Engvall staged a one-off show at the Las Vegas Hilton in December 1999. The sold out crowd are in fits of laughter throughout, as the comedians test out a variety of material to take on the road with them. Fans are sure to lap this up, while newcomers had better be prepared to hold onto their sides and let the laughter commence.

MAN TROUBLE, the fifth collaboration between Jack Nicholson and director Bob Rafelson, is a comical thriller. Nicholson plays Harry Bliss, who runs a guard dog service and is going through counseling with his wife, Adele (Lauren Tom). A serial killer is on the loose in Los Angeles, and when the apartment of classical singer Joan Spruance (Ellen Barkin) is ransacked and she starts receiving threatening phone messages, Joan moves into the Hollywood Hills home of her sister, Andy (Beverly D'Angelo). However, Joan doesn't feel safe there either, because she's harassed by Andy's ex-lovers. So Joan hires a guard dog from Harry's company, and soon Harry is providing more than protection for the beautiful singer.Harry is a natural-born liar who, because of his profession, feels that he lives by a code of honor--even if he can't quite explain it--and Nicholson plays him with comic exasperation, as one thing after another spins out of his control. The usually tough-looking Ellen Barkin is soft and vulnerable, as she is badgered by her conductor husband, harassed by unknown callers, menaced by men from her sister's past, and helped by Harry. Starring Lance Bass and Joey Fatone, members of the popular teenage boy band'N Sync, ON THE LINE is a romantic comedy geared towards fans of these teen idols. Kevin (Bass) meets his true love-at-first-sight, Abbey (Emmanuelle Chriqui) on the Chicago L train, but he doesn't get her name and phone number. They're a perfect match--both can, and do, recite the names of all the U.S. Presidents, in order--and Kevin can't let this one go. He decides to wage a major campaign to find the girl again, which is the story of the rest of the film.Kevin's best friend Rod (Fatone), an ad executive who also fronts a 1980s metal cover band, helps to plan and execute the search for Abbey. The boys put up posters all over Chicago. Their search bears unexpected fruits: as various women who are not Abbey respond to the posters, Rod and his friends reap the benefits.
The media catches wind of the story, and the shy Kevin becomes a minor celebrity, a city-wide posterboy for romance. Does Kevin get the girl in the end? You know the answer.
