Hal Hartley's deliciously droll comedy about the coming of the apocalypse stars Martin Donovan (HENRY FOOL) as Jesus Christ, who is sent back to Earth to set the end of the world in motion on December 31, 1999. However, upon arriving on Earth, Jesus, along with his assistant Magdalena (Harvey), is quickly filled with doubt about destroying the human race. Meanwhile, Satan (Ryan) drowns himself in his sorrows in a seedy NYC bar as he grumbles about the apocalypse. Paul Morrissey (FLESH, TRASH, HEAT) caps off his stinging string of tongue-in-cheek critiques and portraits of the sex-and-drugs-drenchedwoes of modern society with the Warhol-Superstar-studded WOMEN IN REVOLT.Otherworldly trans-gendered beauties Holly Woodlawn, Jackie Curtis, and Candy Darling play the trio of ladies who collide in their attempts to free themselves from their respective ruts while launching a revolutionary feminist group called PIGS (Politically Involved Girls). The three women come from different walks of life--Holly the slut, Jackie the housewife, and Candy the socialite. They share shambling encounters that feature nonstop rhetorical babbling that both mocks and pays tribute to the women`s rights movement. Men are present as pathetic houseboys, worthless relatives, and scheming hustlers as the girls argue their way to liberation, only to beundone by the forces of men. Letting the three extravagant personalities unfurl before the camera, Morrissey continues with his Warhol-influenced aesthetic, creating the story with their improvisations, evocative mannerisms, and inspired gestures. With smart, subversive humor, Morrissey and his three superstars create a compelling, if hilarious, parable of women`s plight.

In 1979, Alan Arkin and Peter Falk starred in the classic comedy THE IN-LAWS, in which Arkin played a timid dentist who gets involved in dangerous government intrigue--or with the ravings of a lunatic--when he meets Vincent Ricardo (Falk), the father of the man Arkin's daughter is going to marry. Douglas and Brooks make a great comedic duo. The outstanding cast in this wild romp also includes Candice Bergen as Judy, the mother of the groom; Maria Nicossa as Katherine, the mother of the bride; and David Suchet as Jean-Pierre Thibodoux, a villain who believes Jerry to be criminal mastermind Fat Cobra.
