A rollicking, irreverent comedy that lampoons both Hollywood and its own hapless hero, LOST IN HOLLYWOOD follows the exploits of the ambitious but luckless Mark Grossman. Poor Mark is literally penniless after a number of low-level jobs in the movie industry that didn`t pan out. Now he`s working as a telemarketer selling pens for a living. Reluctant to relinquish his dream of making it big as a film director, he and his friend Jack hatch a plan to raise funds by stealing clients from their boss. This situation is complicated by the fact that their boss happens to work for the mob. When things don`t go exactly as planned, the future looks bleak indeed as this unfortunate duo go up against a group of dangerous thugs, but against all odds they maintain their hopes for success!

By day, he works at a dead-end security job. By night, he is Eddie Presley (Duane Whitaker, who also wrote the screenplay), Elvis impersonator extraordinaire. Sadly, though, Eddie's life seems to be falling apart. The clubs he performs in have gotten increasingly smaller, his girlfriend has left him, and he can barely afford to live out of his van. But when he gets a chance at a comeback show at a seedy Hollywood nightclub, Eddie sees it as a chance to turn his luck around. Unfortunately, the performance won't go quite as he plans it. The early 1990s saw lad culture filtering into the mainstream in the UK, with magazines such as Maxim and Loaded presenting bawdy, risque accounts of the activities of the modern male. Bands such as Oasis attained huge success, with charismatic singer Liam Gallagher perhaps typifying the cheeky behavior that beset Britain at the beginning of the decade. Television wasn't immune either, with the hit show MEN BEHAVING BADLY embodying the world of the lad in its two principle characters; Gary (Martin Clunes), and Tony (Neil Morrissey). The two live together in a flat beset by untidy squalor, with Gary's girlfriend, Dorothy (Caroline Quentin) inhabiting the flat upstairs alongside her friend Deborah (Leslie Ash). Tony's attempts to woo Deborah are met with firm rebuttals throughout the show, while Gary undergoes various crises of confidence and commitment worriers in his relationship with Dorothy. The hapless pairing of Gary and Tony ensue laughs aplenty throughout, with the angst-ridden coupling often drowning their sorrows in alcohol, discussions of the female anatomy, and the mysteries of womankind.
