Tom Green stars in this comedy, playing a woefully inept guy named Bob. Bob enrolls in butler school in an attempt to improve himself, and is eventually hired by a busy mom (Brooke Shields), whose kids immediately take to him due to his lackadaisical manner. Comedic hijinks result, as the film gently drifts to a surprising conclusion.

James Ivory directed this lighthearted comedy set in 1960s India about an arranged marriage between two young people who are too inexperienced and immature to adjust to one another. Young college professor Prem (Shashi Kapoor) and beautiful Indu (Leela Naidu) seem ill-suited as husband and wife in their arranged marriage. While Prem begrudgingly accepts his role as the breadwinner, he tries to turn Indu into what he considers a more traditional wife. After Indu becomes pregnant and Prem turns to his mother for advice, the couple seems destined for trouble. THE HOUSEHOLDER was the first theatrical feature film for Merchant Ivory Productions, the company formed by Ivory and his producing partner, Ismail Merchant. THE HOUSEHOLDER was also the first time the two collaborated with writer Ruth Prawer Jhabvala, on whose novel the film was based. Woody Allen returns to his slapstick days with this comic romp, which centers on a small-time hood, Ray Winkler, who just can't catch a break. It's as if Virgil Starkwell (Allen's hysterically incompetent criminal mastermind from TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN) has finally gotten out of prison and is still up to his old scheming. Against his wife Frenchy's (Tracey Ullman) better judgment, Ray puts together a ragtag group of misfits, including a scene-stealing Elaine May, and immerses them in a crazy plot to rob a bank. But everything gets upended when their front, a cookie store, takes off, thrusting the Winklers into the upper echelons of New York's high society.SMALL TIME CROOKS looks like no other Allen film; gone are the black-and-white shades of Manhattan, replaced instead by the ridiculously loud shirts Ray wears and the perfectly garish furniture and artwork Frenchy accumulates. Even the Allen soundtrack, usually exclusively jazz, big band, and Dixieland standards, features Tequila by the Champs as an underlying theme. What stands out most of all, however, is the offbeat, charming relationship between Ray and Frenchy, two ne'er-do-wells who get to spend a little time at the top.

When Little Cesar, a gangster dwarf, kills his arch-rival in a shootout, things go from bad to worse for the restaurant owner the dead man has been extorting money from. He is arrested for the murder, and the waiters and cooks are left jobless when the restaurant closes. Instead, they go to work for an impetuous, temperamental local rancher; unfortunately, he only wants to hire women. One of the cooks decides to dress the part, disguising himself as a member of the fairer sex, but trouble begins to brew when the rancher falls in love with
her.
