REBOUND: In the tradition of THE BAD NEWS BEARS comes another family sports comedy, REBOUND. Martin Lawrence stars as superstar college basketball coach Roy McCormick, who is clearly more interested in his social status than he is in the game that made him famous. Unfortunately, when he accidentally kills the pet bird that is the opposing team`s mascot, he`s suspended. The only way to make a return to the big time is if he is able to prove that he has his temper in check. Enter the bumbling players of McCormick`s alma mater, Mt. Vernon Jr. High School, who goad McCormick into being their coach. The only trouble is that the last thing McCormick wants to do is coach a bunch of uncoordinated losers. Gradually, however, Coach McCormick begins to see the world differently when his players show signs of actual promise. And as he finds himself falling for the mother (Wendy Raquel Robinson) of his star player, Keith (Oren Williams), the life that he left behind doesn`t seem so appealing anymore. Directed with flair by Steve Carr (DR. DOLITTLE 2, DADDY DAY CARE), REBOUND features an impressively toned-down Lawrence, as well as a slew of hilarious supporting turns (including Megan Mullally and Patrick Warburton).LIKE MIKE: Fourteen-year-old Calvin Cambridge (Lil` Bow Wow) spends his days at the orphanage waiting to be adopted and shooting hoops with his best friend, Murph (Jonathan Lipnicki). When he starts to wear a pair of sneakers that used to belong to a famous basketball player and bear the initials M.J.--ostensibly those of basketball legend Michael Jordan--Calvin`s wildest dreams begin to come true. teenager is suddenly an unstoppable force on the basketball court and soon finds himself an indispensable member of the L.A. Knights, a floundering NBA team. As long as Calvin has his magic sneakers, he believes he can do anything and be
like Mike.

Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis made 16 movies together from 1949 to 1956, and this remains one of the very best. It's the depths of the Depression in the 1930s, and vaudeville singer Bill Miller (Dean Martin) can't seem to break through to the public. Someone hits on the idea of planting a stooge in the audience, an accomplice with pre-planned heckles and questions as comedy relief during the act. The stooge (Jerry Lewis) soon proves more popular than the singer, which rapidly leads to friction both on and off the stage. Martin and Lewis, by far the most popular comedy team of the 1950s, reprise a lot of their nightclub material in what amounts to a vehicle for their live act (the cliche is that if you've never seen Martin and Lewis live, you've never seen them). Russ Duritz is a success--he has looks, he has money, and he has power. The only things he's missing are friends and a conscience. But when an eight-year-old boy mysteriously keeps popping up in his high-security home, Russ finds things getting strange: The boy turns out to be himself at age eight--Rusty. Once Russ is able to even accept that the boy is who he says he is (with the hilarious help of Dana Ivey as a therapist under pressure and Lily Tomlin as Russ's assistant), he resists being associated with that image of himself yet again: a pudgy loser with a speech impediment. His halfhearted attempts to court his assistant, Amy, are accelerated when his younger self decides to take a hand. Russ thinks he's supposed to help his eight-year-old self become less of a geek, but Rusty might be there to teach Russ a thing or two about the things that really matter. Director Peter Segal (50 FIRST DATES, ANGER MANAGEMENT) and comedian Adam Sandler are at it again in a fun remake of the 1974 classic, THE LONGEST YARD. In the role of Paul Wrecking Crewe, first immortalized by Burt Reynolds (who appears here as Nate Scarborough), Sandler plays an ex-football star whose career ended amidst allegations of point shaving. Fed up, he drunkenly steals his unfriendly wife's (an uncredited Courtney Cox) luxury car and drives it into a multi-car pileup. This lands Crewe in a cruel Texas state penitentiary. His only respite comes from Warden Hazen (James Cromwell) who wants Crewe to help lead his well-equipped prison-guard football team to the league championship. Crewe timorously agrees, suggesting the creation of an opposing team of convicts to the give the guards an easy tune-up before the season. To the ragtag inmates, this is the chance they've been waiting for, and they hustle to get their team together so they can exact some revenge on the harassing guards.In THE LONGEST YARD, Sandler steps out of the spotlight he enjoyed in films like BILLY MADISON and HAPPY GILMORE and is instead content to let his sizable cast of costars shine in the comedic light. Both the guard and the convict teams are infused with solid contributions from a swath of entertaining personalities: ex-football stars Michael Irvin, Bill Romanowski and Brian Bosworth; pro wrestlers Bill Goldberg and Stone-Cold Steve Austin; ESPN anchors Chris Berman and Dan Patrick; and famed rapper Nelly. However, it is Chris Rock, as Crewe's friend Caretaker, whose scenes never fail to steal the show, providing some of the movie's most memorable laughs.
