This 1936 operatic German comedy stars renowned German Jewish tenor Joseph Schmidt. With a wacky plot concerning a tenor who damages his singing voice by mistakenly drinking cologne, this musical is worthy of the Marx Brothers. Schmidt, a man of great talent, perished in a Nazi concentration camp.
