Directed by William Wyler/The Love Trap (DVD)

This double feature contains the documentary DIRECTED BY WILLIAM WYLER along with an early Wyler film, previously unavailable on home video, THE LOVE TRAP, that was one of Hollywood's earliest pictures to use sound. DIRECTED BY WILLIAM WYLER covers Wyler's career from its beginning when he worked on silent westerns to its zenith, when he made such films as ROMAN HOLIDAY and BEN-HUR. Using home movies, interviews with Wyler and stars such as Bette Davis, Sir Laurence Olivier, Gregory Peck, Barbara Streisand, and others, this documentary paints a portrait of a man whose personal and professional lives were as complex and dramatic as the films he made.THE LOVE TRAP was one of Wyler's first pictures to incorporate sound (mostly silent, it includes a few talking sequences). It stars Laura La Plante as Laura, a beautiful young dancer whose marriage to a rich young man named Paul Cadwallader angers the man's family. When Paul's uncle tries to slander Laura and force a separation, she comes up with a scheme to expose the uncle's plot and save her marriage.DVD Features:Region 1Keep CaseFull FrameAudio: Mono - EnglishAdditional Release Materials: TrailersInteractive Features: Scene Access Interactive MenusText/Photo Galleries: Filmographies - 1.
